RETRIEVAL REGISTRARS

Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations is seeking applicants for senior registrar positions at our Jandakot Base (Perth). The base is accredited for special skills training with ACEM and ANZCA. We are currently recruiting for:

  1. ACEM Registrars for 2025, the Registrar post has been approved to meet ACEM's rural term requirements
  2. ANZCA Registrars for 2025, the Registrar post has been approved to meet ANZCA's provisional fellowship training requirements


Roles for people seeking both accredited and non-accredited time at our Jandakot and rural bases exist. The role includes assessment of patients for retrieval, conduct of aeromedical retrieval and some telehealth support to patients in remote locations without health infrastructure. Our Jandakot base has access to jet, turboprop and rotary platforms. Our patient cohort includes a broad range of acuities, presentations, and age groups. We cover the entire state of Western Australia and Indian Ocean Territories.

REQUIREMENTS


Applicants must be eligible for full Australian registration, with a minimum of five years postgraduate experience including Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics and Acute Paediatrics. Ability to independently manage critically ill and injured patients, including procedural skills relevant to critical care medicine is essential. Excellent communication and team work skills are required. The ability to work independently and in small teams is important as are good communication skills.

Experience in Obstetrics, Pre-Hospital or Retrieval medicine are desirable.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Employment contracts for these positions will be for six months only with an opportunity to extend beyond this period in an unaccredited role. Package includes competitive remuneration, generous leave entitlements, professional development allowance and salary packaging.
