About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Flight Nurse Manager, as a Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively with the Flight Nursing team to provide evidenced based and patient centric care to patients who are transferring through the Adelaide Patient Transfer Facility (PTF).
Specifically, you will:
- Assess individual patient needs, and plan and implement care appropriate to the needs of the patient
- Appropriately assess patient safety risk and implement care plans to mitigate risks in the context of the PTF
- Maintain accurate comprehensive and timely documentation of patient care, inclusive of decision making, actions and outcomes
- Restock medical consumables and be responsible for daily medical equipment checking / medication checking
- Support the Flight Nurse team to meet doors closed times, and load and unload patients from the aircraft
- Comply with clinical procedures and guidelines related to clinical practice in the PTF
- Provide ground support to the Flight Nurse and Aviation teams
About You
You are:
- A competent and knowledgeable nurse who is committed to providing patient centred care.
- A strong problem solver with the ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting
- An exceptional communicator with outstanding conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- A strong relationship builder who can work within a multi-disciplinary team and has a thorough understanding of cross-cultural diversity
To be considered for the role you require:
- Registration or you are eligible for Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- A current practicing certificate (or eligible to hold) with 5 years of acute care nursing experience
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics and competency standards
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement Systems as applied to a healthcare setting
