Rural Mental Health Worker, Fixed Term Part Time (3 years)

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania supports the aeromedical service and reaches out to communities to deliver a broad range of primary health care services to benefit people living in Rural and remote areas of Tasmania.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania is now looking to recruit a fixed term, part time Rural Mental Health Worker (4 days per week) based in the Dorset Municipality to join our Primary Health Care team.  This position will be responsible for proactively promoting mental health improvement in the community, focusing on suicide prevention and to provide emotional support for people living with COPD, cardiovascular disease, mental illness and dementia.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Primary Health Care, this role requires at a minimum an associate diploma or certificate qualification with proven experience in the mental health sector. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge of mental health support services within the Dorset region, have completed suicide prevention training and have a thorough understanding of Recovery orientated values and principles.

If you have sound organisational skills, able manage multiple deadlines and efficiently identify and resolve issues, the ability to conduct needs assessment and planning, and possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, we want to hear from you!
