Exciting opportunities exist to join our team and continue the evolution of contemporary care delivered from Port Augusta Base, supported by advancements in video-health and medical record technologies, and an expansion in services in specialist disciplines of mental health, oral health and chronic disease management.

Located at the head of the Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta is a leisurely drive to the beautiful Flinders Ranges and the renowned Clare Valley wine region. The gateway to the South Australian ‘outback’, this well-serviced regional city is home to the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden and Wadlata Outback Centre.

We are seeking highly motivated AHPRA registered General Practitioners with the ability to work both independently in an isolated environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Fellowship with RACGP, ACRRM or equivalent (or working towards this within 12 months of appointment), and comprehensive experience in primary care are essential. Experience in emergency medicine including resuscitation and advanced cardiac and trauma life support are highly desirable. 

Senior Medical Practitioner

Reporting to the Executive General Manager Health Services Development, the Senior Medical Practitioner provides clinical leadership for the Port Augusta Primary Health Care Team. Inherent in the role is the provision of guidance and mentoring to RFDS Medical Practitioners, GP Registrars and medical students. Medical Practitioner 

Reporting to the Senior Medical Practitioner, the Medical Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of a high standard of comprehensive healthcare services. Non-vocational practitioners prepared to complete the Practical Experience Program (PEP) offered through RACGP are encouraged to apply for the Medical Practitioner role.
