Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, the Royal Flying Doctor Service delivers emergency services and health clinics in remote locations providing improved health outcomes in the Outback.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified Dentist to take up a new position with our Dental team, based in Broken Hill, NSW.
Your role as a Dentist in the Oral Heath Team involves travel to communities in the Far West and Upper Western Section of New South Wales, as well as parts of South Australia and Queensland.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of medical and allied health personnel, providing dental treatment and oral health education to the people in our network.
This position offers a diverse mix of remote dental services, public dentistry and teaching. Last year alone, the RFDS South Eastern Section provided oral healthcare to over 4,000 patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dentist to provide much needed dental services to remote and indigenous communities.
Some days you will be flying to remote communities (sometimes staying over night), other days you will be providing dental services from a mobile dental unit in Aboriginal health services or public dental clinics.
Other days you will be working in an Indigenous or public dental facility in Broken Hill. You will also provide clinical guidance and structured clinical training to dental students from both Australian and overseas universities.
- be eligible for registration as a Dentist with AHPRA,
- have experience in all aspects of general dentistry
- have a demonstrated interest in public oral health
- have a current driver's licence,
- have medical defence insurance
- posses a willingness to travel to remote locations. Overnight stays may be necessary.
