Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner to provide quality primary health care to the community. Under the guidance of a PHC Registered Nurse, you will deliver a range of primary health care services, working closely with other health professionals to improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Act as a liaison between clients and health care providers, assisting with follow-up care and ensuring continuity of services.
  • Contribute to local community projects that promote well-being.
  • Offer health education to clients, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their health management.
  • Carry out clinical assessments, tests, and procedures within your scope of practice, collaborating with other health care professionals to develop care plans.
  • Promote health initiatives and preventive care within the community.
  • Mentor and support team members in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Certificate IV or higher in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
  • Experience in providing independent patient care and working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous health and culture.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
