Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland is looking for a dedicated People & Culture Advisor to join our dynamic team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this pivotal role, you will provide operational support to leaders and employees, driving the successful delivery of our People & Culture initiatives.
  
As the People & Culture Advisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering a range of People & Culture services to our organisation. Your primary focus will be to support front-line managers and the P&C team, ensuring effective implementation of HR practices and enhancing the overall employee experience.
  
Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide expert advice to front-line managers on employee-related issues, fostering a proactive approach to improve employee experiences and resolve concerns before they escalate.
  • Deliver value-added HR services that align with strategic and operational commitments, ensuring effective integration into business functions.
  • Support P&C Business Partners in implementing various initiatives and take ownership of select business improvement projects.
  • Produce and maintain key HR documents, including position descriptions, performance management templates, and workforce-related guides.
  • Assist leaders and employees in interpreting and adhering to applicable industry instruments, RFDS policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the interpretation of relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding surveys, driving participation and escalating feedback as necessary.
  • Update and maintain HR-related systems and files to meet governance and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to HR queries in a timely manner, escalating or delegating as appropriate.
  • Foster strong relationships with leaders across the organisation, providing tailored support and exceptional customer service.
About you:
  
We are looking for a proactive HR professional with strong interpersonal skills and a good grasp of HR practices and legislation. Experience in a similar role, as well as the following criteria will help you succeed in this position –
  • University Degree in Human Resources or similar
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in a generalist Human Resources function
  • Sound understanding of the Australian Industrial landscape, including the ability to interpret awards and Enterprise agreements.
  • Ability to interpret organisational policies, procedures, industrial agreements and relevant legislation
  • Experience using a HRIS
  • High attention to detail in production of written content and documentation
  • A broad range of influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
