Description
Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) as Community Engagement Manager to develop and execute comprehensive community engagement plans. Support regional RFDS bases by proactively engaging communities and promoting the RFDS brand and reputation throughout Queensland. In this role, you will lead and support a well-established Community Engagement team, utilising your tactical expertise and friendly, positive and engaging nature. You will successfully;
- Provide operational leadership to deliver strategic and commercial objectives of the organisation
- Develop a local calendar of events, and oversee the execution and management of such events, including the RFDS’ schools and simulator program Foster a positive and productive working environment for all staff in line with the organisation’s mission, vision, promise and values
- Provide support to operational staff on community and stakeholder engagement activities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, understanding their needs and how RFDS can strengthen relationships and support within their communities
- Produce detailed reports, including community and staff feedback, and benchmarking tools to measure community activity and growth
The Community Engagement Manager will join the RFDS team on a permanent, full-time basis and can work from any of our RFDS bases in Queensland.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an engaging, confident leader who promotes innovation and stays up to date on data trends. In addition, to formal qualifications in Marketing, Communication, Event Management, Media, Public Relations or a relevant discipline you will demonstrate;
- The ability to lead remote teams
- Extensive experience in community engagement and marketing services
- Experience in developing, implementing and managing community engagement strategies and plans
- Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write for a variety of different audiences and media
- Strong project management skills
- High-level skills in managing databases and campaign monitoring software
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with a proven ability to understand a wide range of topics, identify issues and provide appropriate communication and engagement solutions

About the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section)
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. In Queensland, the RFDS employs over 500 people with positions ranging from pilots, doctors, nurses, engineers, allied health professionals, and a variety of administration and support services roles. The RFDS delivers a broad range of essential healthcare services to rural and remote communities, as well as emergency retrieval services. In addition to aeromedical retrievals of the critically ill or injured, the RFDS also delivers a broad range of essential primary and preventative healthcare services, including telehealth, mental health, oral health and health promotion.
