Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service has been supporting rural and remote communities since 1928 and are there when needed most. In the past 12 months we have delivered over 85,000 occasions of care including Emergency Retrieval, Patient Transfers, Mental Health Consultations, Dental Care and Vaccinations and we’re now seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Bankstown. 

The NEPTS RN is responsible for providing care to patients including, but is not limited to, ensuring patients remain clinically safe during their occasion of care, remaining ‘between the flags’; providing ongoing communication with the patient and their medical escort, as well as various external stakeholders; identifying clinical deterioration and escalating clinical concerns in an appropriate and timely fashion.

When not involved in patient care, the NEPTS RN will be involved in administrative and base duties as required.
 
Role Selection Criteria
Essential:

  • Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA); and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualifications (or an ability to obtain same);
  • Minimum 3 years acute post graduate nursing experience, or demonstrated skill level;
  • 2 years ICU/ ED experience;
