Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Working in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team you will be responsible for providing primary health care to patients and oversight to the business, creating a positive learning culture and leadership to clinical staff.
 
This position will be a clinical leadership role, overseeing doctors and nurses in the Clive Bishop Medical Centre and supervising registrars. You will be involved in fostering a positive and collegial workplace culture and provide support to colleagues. In addition, you will work together with the Practice Manager to oversee the business aspects of the Medical Centre.
 
Based at Clive Bishop Medical Centre and reporting to our Senior Medical Officer your responsibilities will include:
  • Clinical oversight of nursing at CBMC
  • Supervision of Registrars
  • Partnership with the Practice Manager and SMO to support the growth of CBMC
  • Participation and delivery of teaching sessions for GP registrars and medical students
  • Collect, collate and interpret patient data to determine disease profiles and identify patterns in designated communities
  • Assist in Respiratory or other clinics as required
  • Provide health services that align with patient’s cultural identity and social circumstances
  • Building and driving a supportive team culture in line with the RFDSSE values of Reliability, Trust, Care and Safety
Essential criteria:
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
  • Australian medical registration appropriate for the position
  • Professional indemnity Insurance with an approved provider
  • Currency with BLS
