Description

The Philanthropy Manager leads the Philanthropy team, with a focus on increasing income from major donors, capital campaign fundraising, trusts and foundations and Private Ancillary Funds (PAF’s).

The Philanthropy Manager is a Full-Time position based in Brisbane.
  
Key responsibilities  

  • Personally manage a portfolio of major donors, developing and implementing best practice moves management plans
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to drive growth in Philanthropy, in line with the overarching Fundraising & Philanthropy Strategy
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to understand strategic initiatives and projects, decipher complex issues and support the prioritisation of funding needs
  • Lead capital campaign fundraising, working effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate cross team collaboration to ensure exceptional donor experience and ensure resources and skills are leveraged to drive income growth
  • Work directly with Executive Management and Board to leverage networks and support effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies
  • Manage the Philanthropy program income and expenditure budget, and relevant reporting requirements across Major gifts, trust and foundations

Who we are looking for?

As a motivated, committed and results-driven fundraising leader you will possess the following:
  • 7+ years experience in leading a successful Philanthropy program, with a demonstrated track records of securing multiple major gifts from individuals, Private Ancillary Funds and Foundations
  • Tertiary qualifications in the fundraising field of study or equivalent experience
  • Practical understanding of moves management and current knowledge of the philanthropic landscape
  • Demonstrated people leadership, with the ability to inspire, motivate and lead to ensure high performance and a culture of Philanthropy, embedding the supporter at the heart of fundraising strategies
  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative and effective relationships with decision makers and diverse stakeholder groups, both internally and externally
  • Evidence of a significant corporate and professional network and expert knowledge and understanding of issues relating to philanthropy and fundraising
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, pipeline management, reporting and strong commercial acumen
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the sincerity, tact and diplomacy to deal with complex issues
  • Exceptional and ethical influencing and negotiation skills enabling the conversion of relationships that result in significant funding commitments
  • Possess a strong understanding of and appreciation of wider fundraising methodologies and best practice to ensure effective collaboration across fundraising programs
