We are very excited to announce that RFDS Victoria has been selected as Ryman Healthcare Australia’s chosen charity for 2024!
Each year, Ryman Healthcare staff and village residents across Victoria vote on a charity partner to work with for 12 months. We are incredibly grateful to all the village residents and staff at Ryman for supporting the Flying Doctor in this way in 2024.
This means that throughout 2024 Ryman village residents and staff will raise funds to support RFDS through various activities. Some of these community engagement initiatives will include Christmas markets, BBQs, trivia and movie nights, raffles, morning teas, and family days, to name a few. And with every dollar raised through the fundraising efforts, Ryman Healthcare will match donations to donate twice as much!
Through the fundraising efforts of village residents and staff RFDS Victoria will work to support better physical and mental health, and social connection for all Victorians. With over 30% of Australia’s population living outside a major city the services of the RFDS have never been in more demand and with donations like these, we can continue to serve regional and rural communities by delivering essential health care through services including Flying Doctor Community Transport, Wellbeing, Remote Specialist, and our Flying Doctor Dental Clinic.
Activities in 2024 have already kicked off with RFDS Victoria staff in attendance at the most recent Family Day on January 29th at John Flynn Retirement Village. We are enthusiastic about the upcoming year and the chance to make a positive impact together!
