About this Opportunity

As a Remote Area Nurse (RAN), you will be inspired to provide high quality, culturally appropriate nursing care for patients within a remote healthcare environment across community nursing, primary health care and emergency healthcare including out of hospital emergency transport. You will collaborate with RFDS’ visiting primary healthcare teams (Medical Officers, Allied Health, Mental Health and Dental Teams) to ensure an integrated service approach, focussing on prevention and early intervention.

You will be motivated to utilise your knowledge of – and passion for – emergency response, patient triaging, population health, chronic disease management, culturally safe practice, and health promotion to deliver a comprehensive health service to remote South Australians.

These positions are based across:

- Andamooka – Located 600km north of Adelaide.

- Innamincka – Located 1, 174 km northeast of Adelaide.

- Marree - Located 660km northeast of Adelaide

- Marla – Located 970km northwest of Adelaide

About You

You will:
- be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post qualification general nursing experience.
- have significant experience providing primary health care/population health and/or emergency health services in remote Australia and/or rural Multi-Purpose Health Service Facilities
- have a demonstrated understanding of the principles of Primary Health care, community development and the social determinants of health.
- demonstrate the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to demonstrate initiative, compassion, and enthusiasm.
- be emotionally resilient and physically fit.
