The RFDS began operations at Mascot in January 2003.
Our mission
- to provide the NSW Air Ambulance with pilots, engineers and aeromedically equipped aircraft to ensure that we can deliver an integrated air ambulance service to our area
- to support RFDS operations in rural and remote regions of South Eastern Australia with surplus funds from the NSW Air Ambulance contract
Fast facts
- we operate four King Air B200 aircraft
- our team consists of 20 pilots, 10 engineers and five administrative/technical support staff
- our longest regular flight destination is to Lord Howe Island, although we regularly operate flights to 113 destinations including Melbourne and Brisbane
