Survival Tips
Even as a member of an Open Relay Team it is important to remember that the better physically trained you are, the more you will enjoy the challenge. If you are going to train, just a few laps everyday will make a difference.
- Warm up before jumping in.
- Remember to bring dry clothes and extra towels.
- Bring along some of your favourite drinks and snacks - you will be provided with a light lunch and dinner, but you might like to have some of your favourites on hand to get you through.
- Make sure you let your body rest before eating and swimming.
- Pack some cards or trivia games to pass the time.
- Rinse off between swims.
When you are not swimming
- Why not come and watch a DVD in the Chill Out room?
- Play one of those games you packed.
- Check out the poolside entertainment.
- Dance!
- Get hydrated - remember to drink plenty of water – preferably not from the pool.
- CHEER FOR YOUR TEAM! Don’t forget there’s an award for Team Spirit.
- Grab something to eat from the Goldfields Oasis Café.
Supporters and Cheer Squads
Don’t forget to encourage your friends and family to come on down to the Goldfields Oasis to support you on the day.
Cheer squads and supporters are welcome to sit in the small grandstand located to the West of the main pool. A spectators fee is payable to the Reception Desk of the Goldfields Oasis.
We encourage supporters and spectators to get involved. Why not dress up, make up a cheer, shake some pom poms - remember, it’s all about having fun!
