There are three categories open for entry in the 2011 RFDS Swim Thru:

Open Relay Team

Anybody can be part of this category! A team can comprise of a maximum of 10 adult swimmers – as a bonus, for each child aged 13 and under, two children (also aged 13 or under) can enter.

This is a novelty category where team members can use any means necessary to propel themselves through the water. We encourage the use of flotation devices, fins, snorkels, boogie boards and paddles; however motorised devices are not permitted.

When putting a team together remember to ask your friends, family, colleagues or club members and remind them that they don’t need to be the next Geoff Huegill! This category is all about having fun!

Awesome Foursome Relay Team

This category is suited to the more experienced swimmers. Teams in the Awesome Foursome category must consist of four members who may not use any assistance in the water, this includes fins, hand paddles; flotation devices et cetera. Goggles are permitted.

Awesome Foursome teams are usually popular with experienced sportspersons so ask around your sporting club or gym.

Individual

This one if for the ultimate pro swimmer. Individual competitors may not use any assistance in the water, this includes fins, hand paddles, flotation devices et cetera although goggles are permitted.

If you’re an avid swimmer and you’re looking for a real challenge then this one’s for you!
