Spirit of Queensland Awards
The RFDS Spirit of Queensland Awards program is the core fundraising initiative conducted annually by the Queensland Section.
The Awards are designed to attract people from a diversity of backgrounds across Queensland, who have a caring and compassionate nature and are motivated to meet the challenge.
Entrants co-ordinate activities and events within their communities and raise funds for the RFDS.Funds raised go towards the replacement of ageing aircraft and to update vital medical equipment.
The RFDS Spirit of Queensland Awards focuses on bringing rural, remote and regional Queenslanders together in celebration of individual excellence and achievement and provides both a unique opportunity and an ideal environment for individuals to gain considerable exposure through on-going promotional activities and media involvement.
The RFDS Spirit of Queensland Award is presented to the person who best exemplifies the Spirit of Queensland at the Finals each November.
