Intraosseus vascular access

 

The EZ-IO comprises a small battery-powered drill and a range of beveled, hollow drill tipped needles.  It is specifically designed for safe, fast and controlled intraosseous vascular access.  It is applicable to patients of all ages and weights with different needle sizes and lengths available for 3-39kg and >40kg patients.

Once inserted, the needles create a secure stable port allowing access into the intraosseous space. Fluids and drugs administered reach the central vascular system within seconds. The system is simple to use and widely available in many emergency departments worldwide.

Approximate cost:  $600 for handpiece, $200 for needles, single aircraft kit $1300
