National Mental Health Week is a national initiative, implemented state-by-state in Australia. Its main aim is to promote social and emotional wellbeing to the population, encouraging people to maximise their health potential, enhancing the coping capacity of communities, families, individuals, and increasing mental health literacy. Mental Health Week in 2010 is 10-16 October.
R U OK? Day is 7 October 2010. R U OK? Day is a national day of action that encourages all Australians to ask family, friends and colleagues "are you OK?".
World Mental Health Day in 2010 is 10 October. This day is organised by the World Federation for Mental Health and this year focuses on integrating physical and mental health.
October is Anxiety and Depression Awareness month, as recognised by beyondblue, the national depression initiative. People are encouraged to help raise awareness and reduce the stigma of depression.

Movember is an international initiative held through the month of November. Men are encouraged to grow a moustache to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
