Allied Health

The term ‘Allied Health’ has a variety of definitions and a number of professions are included under this umbrella.

Some RFDS sections employ allied health staff to provide regular clinical and preventative services to selected remote communities. Services include physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy and diabetes education.

Across its operating sections, the RFDS also facilitates access of allied health professionals employed by other organisations to selected communities. These services include dentistry, diabetes education and other professions as required by the communities.
