Fundraising and raising awareness about the work of the Royal flying Doctor Service is a rewarding experience. While making a tangible difference to the lives of others both activities can also help to build self confidence and expand personal and professional development.

2011 RFDS Swim Thru Kalgoorlie
The RFDS Swim Thru is a 10-hour swimming challenge held annually in Kalgoorlie, WA with the purpose of raising much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Western Australia. In 2010 competitors helped raise over $15,000 for the RFDS and together swam a total of 132kms. Since the event’s inception in 1999 this event has raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the RFDS!

Chevron-RFDS Spirit of the West Awards
The Chevron-RFDS Spirit of the West Awards is an exciting new program that recognises fundraising excellence, initiative, humanity and spirit. Thanks to the support of Chevron Australia, individuals have the opportunity each year to win fabulous prizes through their RFDS fundraising and community focused activities. But it is not so much about how much you raise - it’s how you do it and what it does for you that counts.

Flying Doctor Day
Celebrate another RFDS anniversary on Friday, May 15, 2010 by dressing up, dressing down, holding a sausage sizzle or whatever takes your fancy. Flying Doctor Day is an opportunity for offices and schools to have a great time while also raising funds.
Flying Doctor Day is held in May each year on the Friday closest to May 15, the anniversary of the foundation of the organisation that became the Royal Flying Doctor Service. To register, contact fiona.jones@rfdswa.com.au
Fundraising Events
Holding an event is a great way to have fun and get the community involved. What you do is bound only by your imagination and drive – and, of course, by the need to ensure that you don’t break the law, risk life and limb, or offend community standards! To register your event with the RFDS and receive our help and advice you will need to complete our Fundraising Proposal Form (link WA form)
