RFDS - Queensland Section
The RFDS (Queensland Section) offers placement opportunities for university students studying for a Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Nursing. It welcomes the involvement of students and encourages the placement emphasis on rural, remote and indigenous health.
Medical Students
Any Medical student from the following placement program or university is encouraged to apply.
- John Flynn Placement Program Students – Two week placement program

James Cook University – Two week placement program, 4 students per year

Other Queensland Universities (inc. University of Queensland , Bond University and Griffith University ) – Two week placement program, 4 students per year
Unfortunately, due to the high number of student placement requests, the RFDS (Queensland Section) is unable to offer medical placements to those outside the above criteria.
Intake for Medical Student Placements occurs in October, for early April to end of October placement period for following year.
