Applications are invited for specialist positions in Retrieval Medicine at our Perth Base. The appointments will augment our existing medical staff positions, including two Retrieval Registrars, and facilitate 24 hour cover for both our fixed wing and rotary wing services, as well as clinical staffing of our Statewide Clinical Coordination Centre.
Applicants will hold postgraduate qualifications in Emergency Medicine or another critical care discipline. They will be actively involved in retrieval flying, as well as ongoing education and training of clinical staff.
Appointments from 0.5 to 1.0 FTE are negotiable, depending on experience and your desire to participate in additional sessional work, research or study at another institution. A generous remuneration package includes allowances for on-call, professional expenses and professional development. Assistance with relocation will be available for interstate or overseas appointments. An ICT package including notebook computer and BlackBerry are provided as standard.
RFDS Western Operations provides a comprehensive range of routine and emergency medical services to rural and remote Western Australia from five centres. Our Perth (Jandakot Airport) facility operates mostly a fixed wing retrieval service over long distances with a smaller number of helicopter retrievals within 200km radius of Perth. A new dedicated medical jet aircraft is being introduced for long distance retrievals.
