Jandakot Airport is located 16kms South of Perth CBD and 18kms East of the Port of Fremantle. The airport is one of the busiest airports in Australia and the second busiest in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Jandakot Base, which is one of 5 in WA is the primary transfer base in Western Australia. The Base has a full resuscitation area, patient transfer hangar, with the ability to accommodate 3 ambulances, doctors’ offices, flight nurses' offices, medical equipment, recharging facility, blood storage fridge and medical supplies area.
The Base also includes six sleeping suites, providing overnight and short stay accommodation for Jandakot night duty crews and crews from our northern bases. The suites are comfortable, quiet and secure. Crews tasked to fly are able to assemble and equip themselves in a shorter time enabling them to set a faster response time from Jandakot to their destination.

RFDS Operations from Jandakot Base include:
- Corporate headquarters such as accounting and IT
- The operations and coordination centre is the central communication point of contact between our doctors and doctors from the regional and remote areas requiring consultations and flight tasking. The Operations centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
- The RFDS aircraft engineering maintenance facility is staffed by our own engineers, who service and maintain our aircraft at regular intervals on site at Jandakot.
