Organisation Structure
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is made up of seven legal entities.There are four operating sections, Central Operations, Queensland Section, South Eastern Section and Western Operations, two fundraising entities the Tasmanian Section and Victorian Section and the Australian Council (National Office). The RFDS operates in a federated structure and each of the seven entities has its own Board and Management. Each entity operates independently, both financially and operationally.
The Australian Council (National Office) is a company formed for the primary purpose of enhancing the role and functions of the RFDS. It provides services such as development of national policies, guidelines and standards and health programs; and the coordination of marketing, public affairs and fundraising. The Australian Council also provides central coordination for funding from the Australian Government and other national issues.
